1. Introduction
Today were going to test the latest ultralight laptop from Lenovo, the X300. Will this model, completely designed by Lenovo, follow in the footsteps of the IBM ThinkPads, with finish, ergonomics and features worthy of its predecessors? While our colleagues at Toms Hardware concentrated on the laptops hardware and technology features, our tests focus more on its ergonomics.

A Resolutely Pro Laptop
The X300 is a resolutely professional laptop PC. Both its looks and its components (SSD de rigueur) make it a machine thats aimed at users who want an uncompromising business computer and for whom visual design is just icing on the cake.

A Complete Laptop
The X300 is a complete laptop that has just about all a portable computer user could ask for. And whats more, its still light and easy to carry, with its 13.3 display and 3.4-lb. (1.5 kg) weight. Compared to many ultraportables that leave off options like optical drives and large displays, the X300 offers more.
Compared to the MacBook Air
Even if the X300 is not really a competitor of the MacBook Air, the two machines, understandably, are often compared they share the same display size and executive-class price. But whereas the Apple machine has limited connectivity (Apple argues that what it has is enough) to limit the size, the X300 is extremely well outfitted, at the price of being a tad larger (but not to the point where it really makes a difference).

A Few Drawbacks
In practice, the X300s only fault is its lack of suitability for multimedia use. The display, while very effective for office-applications, is not really geared for video. Consequently, the overall performance is a little weak for gaming or video editing. But, as we said earlier, those are not the kinds of uses this machine is intended for.
